Leaving New York, Never Easy

Well, I'm back from my trip to New York City, a sojourn which was ostensibly taken to visit and interview at NYU's Duke Institute of Fine Arts. Suffice it to say that I fell in love with the Institution entirely, the location, the building, the people with whom I spoke, the class in which I sat, the entire course structure...it all seems absolutely perfect, absolutely suited to me.
Which means that if I don't get accepted my rejection will be all the more heart-shattering.

I had a wonderful time in the city--it was, quite probably, one of the best visits I have ever had. I have been to New York City many many many times, so this is no small statement. Of course this primarily had to do with the people with whom I spent most of my time (when I wasn't at the IFA or seeing a Broadway show, of course). One of my favorite things to do is to meet new people, and when those new people are fabulous, witty, fun etc...well...all the better. Additionally, I was able to see a number of old friends--some of whom I haven't seen since Winter Break, some of whom I haven't seen in years. Either way, y'all helped to keep me grounded during the super stressful interview/visiting process. Now I just need to avoid anxiety attacks for, oh, the next month or so and we'll be alright...

...I'll probably post a more detailed description of my New York City debaucheries in a later post. I will certainly post reviews about the three shows I saw (Spring Awakening, Company, and Grey Gardens) later this week. Right now I need to get to bed, as I have slept only thirteen hours since last Wednesday and am surprised that I have not passed out/gotten sick/lost it completely etc.

My friend Nora left me a voice message this weekend, about how I am "fabulous" and New York City is "fabulous" and that our mutual "fabulousness" should "conjoin" and become "supreme fabulousness." I can only hope...

...allright. Time to stop thinking, time to go to sleep. Thanks for a great weekend.
